monster mayhem!!!

I have found this book and i want it sooooooo bad!!! (i mentioned it before!)
It is called plush-o-rama and i want it so bad to make little monsters for my own fun! I have just been on the net and it has been posted, fingers crossed it comes tomorrow but we shall have to see. Here is a pic of the cover of the book and it can be found here to buy at amazon uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plush-o-Rama-Curious-Creatures-Immature-Adults/dp/1579908780/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/202-2740081-0321455?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1186094577&sr=8-1

I was so desperate to have this book however that i just couldnt wait to make one! I went up in the loft and found all the old material of my mums i could and Chris inspired me to make this little fellow. He as originally going to be called the pester monster which is what was inspired by him! but on looking at this guy I have decided his name is Mr. Fibbles!

So meet Mr. Fibbles!
Mr. Fibbles is very naughty, he tries to steal my beer!!!!

roly polymer

I decided to craft some stuff out of fimo polymer clay, mainly my inspiration came from etsy but i loved the idea of making jewellery items and beads ot of them.

I made a pair of strawberry earrings for myself and some phone charms for myself and the girls at work! (how they love my quirky charm!!!) I have made some other odds and ends which iam yet to get pictures of but will post soon.

Here are the cutest strawberry earrings hanginf from a tree. Stirling silver hooks with a metal ring attached to the metal loop inserted into the polymer strawberry before cooking. Arent the adorable!

My Peronal mobile phone charm! I know i couldnt resist it, its yet another poo,but this time with the cutest smiling toilet paper!
Lemon Charm with leaves made for veronique;
Puppy love charm made for Keziah as she loves honey her oh so cute dog which looks like a cloud!!!

Ihave also tried making some clay canes which are canes of coloured clay cleanly sliced to make beads. I have succesfully made a couple of these but i need to get them in the ovan before I show them to the world.

Monkey magic! (and other stuff)

Vero at work has her lovely daughter Ella who is only two and completely obsessed by monkeys. Well I couldnt really resist making a pressie for her could I!!!! She absolutely loves them and came into work the following day to show me them in her hair, but now thinks i can put all animals in her hair for her!!!!

I just drew the design, cut it from felt and sewed it together. The blue covered one is just some fabric with a slit in the back to fit the underside of the clip through then sewn with the rest of the clip inside.
This is my felt strawberry! i love plush!!! its amazing. Only small (though bigger than a real one!) and made with 6 panels and hand stiched with love :)

a little place for your thoughts...

I decided i wanted to learn to make some journals so looked up book binding on hte net and came up with a great video for coptic binding which shows the spine of the book and is delicatly threaded.

I tried a couple of mediums when doing this which were to cover the books in either felt or scrapbook paper. Though i much prefer the look of the felt on the book the scrapbook paper provided a much more quality finish.

Here are the books which i finished whilst messing around with this, i do love them and need to revisit this sometime as they make excellent gifts for friends.

Here is the view of a journal which i made for my friend Helen. It uses scrapbooking paper and has such a good quality finish. Both I and her loved it which made me very pleased.
Below is the image of the coptic binding on the side of the journal. You can see the intricate stitching. The good thing about this kind of stitch is that it keeps the book lying completely flat when closed.
This was me experimenting with felt on the journal. As you can see its sooooo pretty tho not so prefessional looking as the edges are harder to hide being thicker and i found it hard trying to find a mdium to cover the inside cover, as felt was too bulky but paper showed the raised edge of the felt too clearly.
